I bought this book because I d just come off of re watching Over the Garden Wall like probably most people who have found themselves on this page I loved OTGW s atmosphere full of autumnal colors American folklore and the ever lingering specter of death and bought this book hoping that it would give me of the same Hoo boy The plot is as followsJohn Motts has lost his dog Beth and goes on a uest about town to find her That s it The story seems in all ways to model itself after a children s book from the rudimentary prose to the crude illustrations to its very short length but it isn t really for kids not least for the fact that I am a grown ass adult
